Trip #5f Caverns of Sonora, TX (10-12 Mar 2018)
Part of the Texas travel plans were to hang-out in the Hill Country, and then make our way to the Big Bend area. The distance was too much (about 500 miles) for one day drive, so we decided to stop for two nights at private RV camping area associated with Caverns of Sonora. The RV sites were good with electric and water hookup and near by showers. We were early enough to get a site with some shade. There really is not a lot in the area other than the cave, but we decided to stay two night, so we could resupply in Sonora and do the cave tour in the morning.
Wow, the cave was so worth staying around for and doing 1.5 mile two hour tour. It's an historic landmark that's privately owned and operated. The cave is warm and very humid therefore activity formulations are still occurring. In all, its my favorite and most beautiful cave I've had a chance to visit.
